THE ICONIC TOWER BRIDGE
On a sunny day, during lunch break, workers gather by Tower Bridge, sitting on the grass, taking a moment away from the office hustle. The magnificent bridge looms in the distance, providing a scenic escape. Amid chats and lunch, they savour both gossip and their meals.
Tower Bridge, a monumental feat, emerged over eight years through the effort of 432 daily labourers, supervised by Sir John Wolfe Barry. Its creation involved five major contractors. Immense piers, rooted in the riverbed, were erected to uphold the structure, with 11,000+ tons of steel forming Towers and Walkways. These were adorned with Cornish Granite and Portland Stone, ensuring durability and elegance.
