I particularly love the almost cinematic quality of this view — the stillness of the water and boats contrasting with the movement of the railway, surrounded by the striking architecture and countless windows overlooking the basin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLimehouse also holds personal memories for me. During my years working in finance, I would regularly pass through the area on my way to the Docklands. I remember looking out towards Limehouse Basin and admiring the view, so finally painting it feels like capturing a little piece of my own London history.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd where does the name Limehouse come from?
