Meet the Little Green Burrito 🌵
This is a Sedum burrito, affectionately known as the Donkey's Tail. It's basically a cascade of tiny green jelly beans that somehow qualifies as a plant. Equal parts adorable and dramatic, it'll happily spill over the edge of a pot like it's auditioning for a shampoo advert.
Fair warning though: those plump little leaves are commitment-phobes. Brush past it, move it too enthusiastically, or even look at it funny, and it may decide to shed a few. Don't panic—it happens to the best of us.
Loves bright light and a good dose of sunshine. A sunny windowsill is ideal. If it starts stretching out like it's reaching for the TV remote, it needs more light.
Less is more. Let the soil dry out completely before watering, then give it a good soak. It would much rather be thirsty than sitting in soggy soil. Overwatering is the fastest way to turn your burrito into mush.
Use a cactus or succulent mix with good drainage. This plant absolutely refuses to wear wet socks.
Happy in normal household temperatures but appreciates things on the warm side. Definitely not a fan of frost or chilly draughts.
A little cactus fertiliser once a month during spring and summer is plenty. Think of it as the occasional snack rather than a three-course meal.
Not edible, despite looking suspiciously like tiny green sweets. Best kept away from curious pets and little hands.
In short: Give me sunshine, ignore me most of the time, don't drown me, and please... stop poking my leaves.
